Iris SleightPresident & Media Strategist
Iris attended the University of Maryland, but it was her teenage fascination with radio that laid the groundwork for her impact on the media world. Iris began her career working for KBEQ, a powerhouse Top 40 station in Kansas City, as one of the first women to break into radio sales. Iris was eventually promoted into Sales Management, which attracted the attention of an ad agency that convinced her to bring her expertise into the agency world. Now, over 25 years later, Iris’s trademark passion for negotiation, account service and results are evident everywhere you turn in the agency.
Andrew SleightCEO/Creative Director/CBO
Andrew graduated from the State University of New York with a degree in Psychology, but his freshman year at the University of Kansas made him a lifelong Jayhawk. Thanks to an absurdly low draft number, Andrew volunteered to defend America’s skies at a Nike Hercules Missile Battery. After returning to civilian life, he began a career in sales and promotion with several Fortune 500 companies, including Warner Brothers, Bristol Myers, and Guidant Corporation. Andrew has pioneered Sleight Advertising’s unique, multi-dimensional approach to providing companies with the marketing tools and branding expertise they need to achieve their critical objectives. He is a published author and is a passionate advocate of organic search optimization and organic farming.
Rob RancePresident, Digital Division
Rob has a degree in Electronics and qualifications in Nuclear Engineering. He found his true passion in Digital Marketing. With over 15 years of experience in Digital Marketing, long before Google came to prominence, Rob knows how to deploy online marketing strategies, including Search Engine Optimization, to drive real results for business. As a former Officer in the Royal Navy and National Online Marketing Director, Rob has a diverse background that has prepared him to fearlessly helm a team of creatives and strategists armed with big ideas, analytics, and a dash of freakiness. Rob is a Google-certified online marketing expert, and is passionate about using on-and off-page SEO, SEM, social media, and other white hat techniques to deliver measurable results for clients.
Brooke BrockmanDirector of Client Services
Brooke graduated from Iowa State University with a BA in Business Management, with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship and Strategy. Since then, she’s had nine years of Account Management and Sales experience, working for some of the largest companies in the world…along with some of the smallest. Brooke also ran her own business, so she has a unique understanding of what business owners want, and is passionate about making their advertising work. She loves working with clients and getting to know them, as well as helping to make their businesses grow and succeed.
Kristi KooimaDirector of Client Services
Kristi brings nine years of Media Buying and Account Management experience to Sleight Advertising. Hailing from a small town in South Dakota, she grew up on a farm and learned a strong work ethic from her parents. She graduated with honors from the University of South Dakota with a Business degree with an emphasis in Marketing. Kristi settled in Sioux Falls after graduating and began her career in the advertising industry. Her husband received a job promotion that brought Kristi to Omaha and she is grateful to continue her career with Sleight Advertising.
Trevor HudsonAccount Manager
Trevor graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in Communications with an interest in Media Studies and Film, which makes him a perfect match here at Sleight. He began his career working for Six Flags Great America in Chicago as a Marketing and PR Assistant. A year later he moved back to Omaha and started work as a National Sales Assistant at KMTV, then moved on to Journal Radio and the Omaha World-Herald. Now he is on Team Sleight as an Account Manager and Director of Business Development, where he enjoys helping clients develop media strategies and seeing them succeed. When he is not on the phone or meeting with clients, he is performing as the lead vocalist for the local rock n’ roll cover band Hidden Agenda and probably watching basketball.
Bonnie JostAccount Manager
Bonnie graduated from the University of South Dakota with a BA in Contemporary Media and Journalism and emphases in Advertising and Public Relations. After college she spent a summer in Alaska, then returned to the Midwest to pursue a career in media. She worked as a sales assistant at a Sioux City TV station, where she found her passion for media buying and prompted her to move to Omaha to work for Sleight Advertising. She has worked as a media assistant, media buyer, and an account manager. She loves growing in this industry and learning new things. Bonnie grew up in small town in South Dakota, but she loves Omaha and all it has to offer.
Debra SmithMedia Buyer
Debra began her professional life as a music teacher in Omaha, The Bahamas, and California. Eventually her love of books drew her to a new career in publishing and she spent the next thirteen years at Bethany House in Bloomington, Minnesota. As the Fiction Marketing Manager, she discovered a love for advertising and for creating effective marketing plans. With help from a matchmaking sister-in-law, she met and married an Omaha man and is thrilled to be back in her hometown and part of the outstanding team at Sleight.
Jeff ArmstrongAssociate Creative Director
Jeff graduated from Northwest Missouri State University, where he obtained a BS in Broadcasting and Theatre. In addition, he has an M.S. Ed in Teaching and Instructional Technology. Jeff started out his career as a Graphic Designer in St. Joseph, and eventually found his way into Video Production as a Media Producer at KJO Media in Kansas City. Now he is here at Sleight as our Production Manager, seeing projects through from concept to conception. When he’s not working, he can’t stop talking about music, whether it be his vinyl collection, concerts or music memorabilia.
Stephanie BowlingGraphic and Web Designer
Stephanie graduated from the Creative Center Art College in Omaha, with her BFA in Graphic Design in 2010. Before joining Sleight Advertising, Stephanie worked at the AIM Institute, a non-profit devoted to promoting IT in the Midwest, as their Graphic Designer. With her ambitious attitude towards design and work, she devotes herself to beautiful, yet functional design. She believes in continual learning, and that evolving makes for a better designer, a better employee and an all-around better person. Stephanie and her boyfriend Ryan have 3 lovely dogs, 1 lazy ferret and 2 pigeons.
John comes to Sleight Advertising with agency, in-house and freelance experience. He feels that “This Is Spinal Tap” is required viewing for just about everyone. At this writing, he’s awaiting delivery of a Nigel Tufnel green skeleton t-shirt. While he enjoys all types of music, he has a soft spot for rockabilly and alterna-twang. And he’s always on the lookout for the next great cover tune. You can see him knocking around car shows and train tracks, camera in hand. In addition to photographing transportation, he digs signage and finding real-world examples of grocer’s apostrophes. You know… the all-too-common incorrect ones. At Sleight, John writes copy to fill the target’s head with potential and drive action. He graduated from Creighton University with a degree in Journalism, with an emphasis in advertising.
Wendy GoodmanMedia Assistant
Wendy graduated from High School at Tri-Center and went to ICS, where she received a certificate for Psychiatric Technician. Before coming to Sleight Advertising, Wendy worked as a Traffic and Billing Coordinator at Cox Media for ten years. She is very passionate about getting things done and learning new things. She loves spending time with her son, Justin, and daughter, Melinda, along with her lovely grandkids, Jay and Addyson.
Tab, one of the original employees at Sleight Advertising, went to Arizona Western College where she learned the agency world from the ground up. For eight years she worked in accounting/cost accounting in the Arizona farming industry for companies such as Dole, Fresh Express and Taylor Farms. Thanks to this wealth of experience, Tabitha was instrumental in the creation of many of the customer service processes we have at the agency.
Nancy comes to Sleight Advertising with over 20 years of Accounting experience. She also has an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. She is passionate about providing up to date and accurate financial records for the company. Nancy has two wonderful boys, and in her free time she enjoys scrapbooking.
Margaret MorelandPublic Relations Director
Margaret is the Public Relations Coordinator here at Sleight Advertising. Prior to joining the agency, Margaret worked for IBM. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Accounting, and like many of the Sleight team members, her title doesn’t even begin to describe her responsibilities and value. Margaret writes press releases, oversees press relations and promotions, all the while scheduling and coordinating interviews.
Danny graduated from Northwest Missouri State University, where he earned his Bachelors in Broadcasting. He joined the Sleight Advertising team as an intern and quickly became SA’s Production Specialist. Previously, he worked predominately as a freelancer with an advertising agency in Kansas City. His professional passion lies with the story; he is always looking for new ways to utilize imagery to tell a story, and in turn, perfect his craft. Some would call him a Batman enthusiast, but he openly admits that “geek” may be a more accurate term.
